dear santa

I have been a good boy all of this year

And I want you to be the first to hear

I would like a Shetland pony

And I know one that is very lonely

He belongs to a nice old man named John

And he stays on John's back lawn

If he was mine I would call him Pal

And I would keep him in a corral

He walks around the lawn at the

End of his chain

He looks sad and lonely

Until I pat his mane

When I brush his hair it shines

I do wish he was mine

I could ride him across the fields

And I would feed him some great meals

Sometimes he eats old John's flowers

And John says he would sell this pony

For a hundred dollars

Would that be too much for you to spend

I have ten dollars that I can send

I know ninety dollars is a awful lot

but ten dollars is all I got

Maybe my dad could send some money too

I just heard my mother talking to you

She said Christmas won't be much this year

She whispered low so I shouldn't hear

She said a pony would be ridiculous

And it would eat more than us

Please show her she is wrong

John said Pal is smart

And very strong

And I will sell rides to kids after school

I bet the kids will think

That's real cool

And that would pay for his

Food and stall

I know the profits will be small

But I want Pal and he needs me

So Santa, can't you see what a

Great team we will be

Thank you Bobby
