Behind the eight ball
Jim shampine was a legend in his days of driving race cars,He died doing what he what he loved to do, and did it better than any outher driver in his time.

At Oswego 8 ball is in,
front of the pack!
At Thompson he cruises to victory,
Like a truck called Mack.
He wins a lot of money,
Enough to fill a large sack.
I haven't seen him,
at Star yet,
mabby its the track he cant hack.
They tell us Jim is coming,
But the announcer,
must be a quack.
He only showes up for,
the easy ones,
Is it the time it takes
to get here,
Or is it the gas that
he must lack.
{Note this was at the time of the gas shortage}
He didn't win last time at Thompson,
But I know there he will be back.
And he ever gets to race Star,
I will change my name from
John, to Jack.

and,he won the
big race of the year)
