The long highway home

Rubber,  steel, and lots of chrome,

Going down the long highway home,

She sits all alone, waiting for him,

her truckdriver, sweetheart, named Jim.

Thru sixteen gears without a grind,

a smother shifter you cant find.

Eightteen wheels between

 him and the road

Trucking down the highway, carrying his load.

his C.B. keeps him wide awake.

black coffee, when he has a break.

Truck stops are good too see

quick sleep, and late T.V

Up in the morning early to start,

back on the highway to my sweethart.

Give me a southbound, what do you see?

Are thier any smokeys

waiting for me?

I got to get home to see my girl, she smells like a flower,

and she is as smooth as a pearl.

We got a big date on saturday night,

We will sing and dance untill they play good night.

Just four stops and I will be done,

Then Two nights full of fun.

Out of this rig, and into my car.

twenty miles to her doesen't

seem so far.

She is so pretty and so small,

and I know she is waiting fo my call.

It's starting to rain the roads are getting slick.

I better not stop this rig to quick!

I cant stop I am starting to slide!

That saturday night, and all alone.

SHE CRIED....
