Tom was a man dressed very neat

who carried a cane and had slippers

on his feet. 

He lost his sight and

now sees with his ears

and sees his memories

of eighty three years. 

His world is dark

but his mind is bright and

sadly he will never see light.

He can see his past life

and picture his wife.

As he smells flowers

and pictures red roses

and remembers the Morning Glory

at noon when it

closes. 

His dark world is full

of the good life he had

and the happy times

that make up for the sad .
