Autumn
by
John J. King
Autumn is here,
The leaves are turning gold;
The days are getting cool,
And the nights are getting cold.
Schools are open,
Mothers are getting a rest;
Squirrels are busy,
Putting nuts in their nests.
Pools are being covered,
And boats put away;
They won't be used again,
Until April or May.
Local towns are
Putting on fairs;
Prize-winning food and
Animals will be there.
Get ready for football, the World Series
And new T.V. shows;
And enjoy this season
Before it snows.
