Dear Santa
by John J. King
Dear Santa,
Please send me a little doll,
Not very big, but
not too small.
One that I can love,
and call my own;
She doesn't have to cry,
giggle or moan.
One that I can hold close,
and rock her to sleep;
She doesn't have to run, talk,
or drive a jeep.
Just one that will close her eyes
when she lies down;
She doesn't have to cry tears,
laugh, or make a frown.
Just a little doll that needs me;
I'll take good care of her,
you will see.
I will scold her
when she is bad;
And I will hug her
when she is sad.
Please, Santa, send her soon;
I have a special place for her
In my heart and
in my room.
From a loanly little girl
